WAKE ME, MAYBE, A Painting
WAKE ME, MAYBE is a painting about my dilemma of wanting to remain in a dream, asleep, and wanting
to be awake and to stop dreaming, what with wakefulness being necessary to live a life beyond the
subconscious. My dream state is inspiring and rewarding, so, even when difficult dream imagery occurs, I
am hestitant to depart from it, to wake. That quandray is what this painting is about --a very
uncomplicated, whirly-gig sort of pictorial, if not silliness in simple shapes, which is how I feel about
dreaming and dreams, and, especially, about sleep.
